research in Alabama Baptist history through the The Alabama Baptist
Historical Commission is pleased to announce its annual Study Grant
Program. A maximum of $500.00 is available to researchers in the field
of Alabama Baptist history. The purpose of the grant is to foster
research in Alabama Baptist history and to encourage use of the Alabama
Baptist Historical Collection housed in the Special Collection
Department of the Samford University Library. The publication of
research in entirety or part in The Alabama Baptist Historian, a
journal of the Alabama Baptist Historical Society, is desirable. Who can apply? Students Professors Church History Committees Associational History Committees Anyone researching Alabama Baptist history!
The Alabama Baptist Historical Collection is recognized as the world's most complete resource on Alabama Baptists. The Collection includes: Original church and association records Histories of Baptist organizations, agencies, and institutions Histories of Baptist associations in Alabama Histories of Alabama Baptist churches Printed minutes of Alabama Baptist Convention, entities, and institutions Printed minutes of the Southern Baptist Convention Biographical information of individual Alabama Baptists Microfilmed copies of The Alabama Baptist and other Baptist periodicals Miscellaneous artifacts relating to Alabama Baptist life Photographs of Alabama Baptist people, places, and events Link to Special Collection
